While drawing down the long mountain, The brute was bringing Diarmaid to straits. His tempered blades were twisted Like withered rushy plaits.   Grainne and Diarmaid were able to settle down and raise their family. A few years later another geis entered into the story – Diarmaid’s geis to never hunt boar. Diarmaid, while hunting with Finn, was gored by a wild boar. Finn could have saved him. A dramatic Celtic tale: the great warrior Fionn Mac Cumhaill loves Grainne, but she elopes with the handsome Diarmaid, setting in motion a series of tragic events. Long ago in Ireland, in the time of the Fianna, one of the greatest and most famous warriors under Finn mac Cumhaill’s leadership was named Diarmuid O’Duibhne. Diarmuid was The Hunt for Diarmaid and Grainne book son of a man named Donn, and he was raised with his half-brother, the son of a man named Roc.

One day, the son of Roc was frightened by an animal, and he ran between the legs of Diarmuid’s father. Classic Celtic Tales. Based on an ancient Irish tale, this is the story of Fionn Mac Cumhaill, the great Fianna leader, who wishes to marry Grainne.

She will not have him, and runs off with Diarmaid. A great chase takes place, with a final battle involving mixed loyalties, a warrior's honour, and a woman's d stocks available - Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (Irish pronunciation: [ˈdʲiəɾˠmˠədʲ uə ˈd̪ˠʊvʲnʲə]) or Diarmid O'Dyna (also known as Diarmuid of the Love Spot), was a demigod, son of Donn and one of the Fianna in the Fenian Cycle of Irish mythology (traditionally set in the 2nd to 4th century).

He is best known as the lover of Gráinne, the intended wife of Fianna leader Fionn mac Cumhaill in the legend. But on that night Grainne met Diarmuid, one of Fionn's best warriors and it was love at first sight. Grainne was prepared to go to any lengths to get her man and drugged the entire party, apart from Diarmuid.

With Diarmuid all to herself, Grainne confessed her love for him, but Diarmuid backed off, as he was loyal to his leader Fionn.

Diarmuid and Gráinne is one of the most popular mythical love stories from Ireland. It strikes a chord at the very essence of our core and brings to light the polarities of life; love/hate, revenge/forgiveness, light/dark.

It can be likened somewhat to the Arthurian saga in which King Arthur’s wife Guinevere loved his right hand man. ``The Hunt for Diarmaid and Gráinne'' is full of magic and inventiveness. It is a tale packed with heroes and heroines who have superhuman gifts and all too human failings.

Princess Gráinne, sick of the many young men who come to woo her, agrees to. When Diarmaid tells Gráinne that he will be going hunting that day, she pleads with him not to go; at least, she argues, he should take his sword with him, that never misses its target.

But Diarmaid doesn’t think he will need it, and goes to the hunt without it. In the event, he is attacked by the boar, which leaves him nearly dead.
